The ₹11,000 figure is Hyundai’s announced booking amount, not the vehicle’s price or a quoted finance down payment. Hyundai’s Bayon announcement gives Indian buyers several concrete details, but a booking decision needs more than a launch date and a feature list. This guide separates the manufacturer’s announcements from the checks we would make before choosing a variant. It is based on published documents, not a drive or ownership test.
What Hyundai has announced
Hyundai’s 12 October announcement schedules the India launch for 26 October 2026. It lists a 1.5-litre, four-cylinder petrol engine producing 115 PS and 144 Nm, with a six-speed manual or IVT automatic. It also announces two 12.3-inch curved displays, a generative AI voice assistant, connected services and software updates across up to 19 controllers. These are manufacturer specifications; they do not establish how the car performs on the road.

The booking announcement specifies ₹11,000 through Hyundai’s website or authorised dealers. It describes the vehicle as engineered for five-star Indian safety standards. That statement is an engineering claim, not an independently awarded crash-test result. The announcement says delivery timing will be communicated at launch.

The six checks that matter before booking
1. Ask for the exact variant and gearbox in writing.
A feature shown in a launch presentation may belong to a different trim. Have the dealer identify the equipment on the version you intend to buy, rather than using a display car as the specification sheet.
2. Request an itemised on-road quotation.
Separate the vehicle price, registration, insurance, accessories and any other charges. Ask which items are optional. A booking amount alone does not tell you the final cost or whether that cost fits your budget.
3. Read the booking terms before paying.
Ask how cancellation and refunds work, whether you can change the selected variant, and how the dealer records your place in the delivery queue. Keep the receipt and written answers. We have not verified a universal refund policy for this model.
4. Compare the gearboxes on the same route.
During a test drive, assess low-speed control, parking, visibility and seat comfort. If both gearboxes are available to drive, use a similar route. A specification table cannot settle which one suits your daily traffic.
5. Request the certified mileage for your version.
This guide does not present a mileage figure as verified. Ask for the certification and the applicable powertrain. Keep certified results separate from dealer estimates and owner-reported consumption.
6. Try the connected features you would actually use.
Ask for a demonstration of supported commands, phone pairing and the functions available without connectivity. Confirm any subscription, data or renewal costs in writing. Do not assume that every connected feature is included indefinitely.
Should you book now or wait?
If your decision depends on the final price, a particular feature or a delivery deadline, obtain those answers first. If you are comfortable placing a booking before those details are settled, understand the written terms and retain your documents. We are not recommending a variant or declaring Bayon better than a rival without a like-for-like comparison and road-test evidence.
